Expert Consultation at WSPA within HEI GreenPath Project

Visit of Professor Félix Puime-Guillén (16–29 June 2025)

As part of our ongoing commitment to the HEI GreenPath project—“Shaping HEI Environment for a Sustainable Tomorrow”—WSPA had the honour of hosting Professor Félix Puime-Guillén from June 16th to 29th, 2025. Professor Puime-Guillén is a respected international expert in the fields of renewable energy and ecological solutions, with experience both in the academic sphere and in the promotion of sustainable practices in everyday life.

The visit was organized within the framework of the regional program “Visiting professors in Lublin” fianced by City of Lublin, the aim of which is to increase the level of internationalization of Lublin

One of the key objectives of HEI GreenPath is the development of practical and innovative tools—including educational materials and guidelines—that help integrate sustainable thinking into academic programs and institutional operations.

During his stay at WSPA, Professor Puime-Guillén played an instrumental role in consulting on the content and structure of two core project deliverables: brochures intended for students and higher education institution (HEI) staff. These materials will be developed to promote ecological practices in both personal and institutional contexts. His insights were invaluable in helping us ensure that the content is not only scientifically sound but also practical and aligned with current global sustainability challenges.

Throughout a series of meetings and working sessions with the WSPA project team, Professor Puime-Guillén provided feedback on proposed content, suggested new content areas based on international best practices, and shared his own experiences implementing green solutions in academic settings. The collaborative exchange focused on how universities can take practical steps to reduce their ecological footprint and foster environmentally responsible behaviour in students, faculty, and staff.

His visit also provided an opportunity for deeper discussion on the broader goals of the HEI GreenPath project, particularly the importance of integrating sustainability into non-technical disciplines such as management, social sciences, or journalism—areas traditionally less associated with green competencies, yet crucial for holistic societal change.

We are grateful for the expertise shared by Professor Puime-Guillén and the inspiration he brought to our team. His contribution significantly supports the development of meaningful project outputs that will benefit not only WSPA but also our international project partners and the broader academic community.
