In December 2025, our project was disseminated at the European Parliament in Brussels during the high-level international conference
“Bridging Continents: Higher Education as a tool for EU–Southern Mediterranean cooperation”.
The event gathered representatives of European institutions, higher education leaders, policy makers and international academic networks, providing an excellent platform to promote the project at European level.
The dissemination activity was carried out by MEDEA – Pegaso International (Malta), which presented the main objectives and achievements of the HEI GreenPath project in the context of European priorities related to the European Green Deal, sustainability and the green transition in higher education.
During the conference, HEI GreenPath was showcased as a practical and transferable model for integrating green skills into higher education, particularly within social sciences and humanities programmes. Special attention was given to the project’s key outputs, including the Guidelines for HEI staff and the student-oriented brochure, which support academic staff and institutions in embedding sustainability competences into teaching and learning processes.
The presentation highlighted that green skills should be understood not only as technical competences, but also as cross-cutting skills relevant to governance, leadership, social responsibility and institutional development. This perspective generated strong interest among participants, especially representatives of international university networks and organisations involved in Euro-Mediterranean cooperation.
During networking sessions, HEI GreenPath representatives engaged in discussions with stakeholders from major academic networks, including EMUNI – Euro-Mediterranean University (representing over 210 universities from 33 countries) and UEMF – Euromed University of Fes. These exchanges opened opportunities for future cooperation and potential transfer of project results beyond the consortium and the European Union.
Dissemination of HEI GreenPath at the European Parliament significantly strengthened the visibility, credibility and international reach of the project. It confirmed the relevance of the project’s objectives at policy level and reinforced its contribution to European and international discussions on sustainability, education and green transformation.
